Gothic II Gold is the Mac OS edition that includes the full version of the second part of the series and the Night of the Raven expansion. In the German RPG Gothic 2, the story is very elaborate and interesting. The plot perfectly continues the first part, where the player was trapped in the ruins of the Temple of the Sleeper. Ksardas will save him from imprisonment, teleporting him to hell. Then another difficult task will appear - to stop the dragons. The story of the second part is less original, but it has more side quests, the relationship between the individual factions is again beautifully depicted, and there is a little more sympathy for the war with the goblins.

In Night of the Raven, the story is supplemented and tells the story of a former red baron from the Old Camp, who wants to take power from Beliar, and the protagonist must stop him again.

The gameplay has progressed. There was a good skill with a weapon from the very beginning, but you still have to pump it. Shooting from a crossbow and a bow is automatic again: the game will focus on itself, after choosing who to shoot. With the help of magic, circles are enlarged and stronger spells are revealed. Added Paladin magic, in which new circles do not open, but strong spells are immediately available in exchange for experience points. The protagonist is protected by armor or amulets, and mana is replenished with bottles. In hand-to-hand combat, the target and the direction of the strike are selected: whether to cut from the right, left, from above or jump.

There are professions in Gothic 2 Gold on Mac OS. In the first part, one could learn blacksmithing, but it was impossible to work directly as a blacksmith. Now it is possible to become a hunter (pluck animal skins), a blacksmith (make swords) or work as an apprentice for an alchemist (pick mushrooms). Each of these professions helps to better master the craft, for example, a blacksmith learns to make all the best and best swords. The game has a lot of all kinds of monsters against which you have to come up with special strategies

In Night of the Raven, the combat system is the same, but new weapons, runes, monsters have been added, and you can learn how to mine gold.

The game has the same graphics as in the previous part, but with improved details. It has really beautiful armor and well-designed monsters. The visual component in Gothic 2 has reached almost perfection, although it is already outdated and cannot meet modern standards. For lovers of such projects, the graphics will suit and will not be very distracting. In Night of the Raven, the graphics have not changed: new weapons, armor and monsters look great.

Gothic 2 is a more than worthy successor and NotR is a great addition. Although the story has become less original, it is still very catchy and entertaining. In addition, working specialties and a bunch of side quests appeared in the game.
