Review

The Mortal Kombat series is a legend in its genre. Its sixth sequel, called MORTAL KOMBAT UNCHAINED, took all the best, both from the previous part and from competitors.

The Mortal Kombat game line for Mac OS has always followed its own path. Unlike episodes such as Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter or Tekken, she did not pay so much attention to realistic movements or frantic dynamics, but rather relied on three aspects: fun, blood and black humor. Already the first part was full of severed limbs, torsos and heads, which was one of the main reasons why the Mortal Kombat franchise earned the title of "cult" game.

This title was strengthened with each sequel released. The reputation was slightly spoiled by the not very high-quality fourth volume, released in 1998, which, although it provided the opportunity to use weapons for any character, did not succeed in making the transition from 2D to 3D in it the way the authors and players would like. Fortunately, with the release of Deadly Alliance, the series' prestige was restored. The show's spiritual master, Ed Boone and his team set the bar very high. Players saw such unprecedented innovations as two unarmed combat styles and one with a weapon for each character. The commercial success showed that the series went in the right direction. The same was confirmed with the release of MORTAL KOMBAT UNCHAINED.

This time, the terrible former ruler of the Outworld, Onaga, also known as the Dragon King, rebelled again. Which, of course, does not please Raiden, who is aware of the threat posed by Onaga. Thus, the three former rivals join forces to destroy the Dragon King. But the attempt fails, and the cruel ruler turns out to be determined at any cost to return not only the outside world, but also to conquer other worlds.

The plot is another aspect that sets Mortal Kombat apart from the competition. While history is sidelined in most other fighting games, Mortal Kombat places a lot of emphasis on it. Each character has a unique role and personal reasons for engaging in bloody battles, be it emotional motives or the classic desire to save the world (or enslave it). It's hard to find a fighting game with the same universe, in which most of the characters not only have an interesting past, but in parallel are part of a complex system of relationships.

In Mortal Kombat: Deception on Mac OS, it's easier to fall in love with a certain character, and any gamer will definitely find a favorite. The choice is rich, there are more than 20 characters. Be it the classic Milina, Sub-Zero, Jade, Nightwolf, Raiden, Scorpio, Liu Kang or Sindel, newer Li Mei, Bo'Rai Cho or Kenshi, or those who appear for the first time, such like Kira, Sujinko, Hotaru or Dairu.

Mortal Kombat: Deception lived up to expectations, so it's worth Download. The game has everything promised by the creators, plus many nice details that make the game one of the funniest fighting games.
