Thief: Master Thief Edition is an exciting first-person fantasy action game for Mac OS that tells the story of the adventures of a famous thief named Garrett. This person is a master of his craft and is able to steal any thing for which the customer pays well. Together with his partner, he takes on a difficult task, the purpose of which is to steal a magic stone from an ancient castle. Arriving at the place, Garrett realizes that he has come too late, and the owner of the castle conducts a strange magic ritual with the stone. The partner of the great thief, ignoring her friend's warnings, tries to reach the stone and falls into a whirlwind of magical energy that the stone produces. After that, Garrett loses consciousness and plunges into a kind of lethargic sleep.

When the thief comes to his senses, he finds himself on a cart pulled by two vagrants. With difficulty, the man manages to get to his refuge, which he finds in complete desolation. Having contacted his old acquaintance, Garrett learns that he has been in a coma for about a year, and during this time there have been noticeable changes in the city. An unknown disease struck many townspeople, and the streets were filled with gangs of bandits and marauders. People blame the baron from the old castle for what happened, but the city guards suppress such conversations, and cruelly dealt with dissenting residents. However, the spirit of resistance grows stronger and Orion appeared in the city, calling on the townspeople to fight the tyrant.

Trying to return to his usual life, Garrett takes up an old job and steals a certain magic ring. The thief's client turns out to be the mysterious Orion, who asks the main character to steal one more thing for him. While working on this assignment, Garrett realizes that he does not fully understand the current situation, and tries to figure it out. However, things are not as simple as they seem, and anyone in this new world can turn out to be a mortal enemy. Therefore, it remains for Garrett to do what he knows best - hide and watch.
