Battle vs. Chess for Mac OS is based on the creation of an interactive whiteboard that embodies the principle of a successful chess game in today's multimedia world. Animated fantasy figures connect to magical worlds and are controlled by the player. As a commander, the player performs skillful maneuvers on the playing field and is sent straight into battle with devastating attacks.
The game is based on a simple yet unusual concept of creating a fusion between professional chess software and upbeat, combat game mechanics, complemented by richly animated game elements. Instead of ordinary figures, the game contains all kinds of fantasy characters: from elves to knights, from sorcerers to dwarves.
Features:
- Two exciting campaigns with 30 missions and 30 different mission objectives;
- Competitions in PvP duels on one PC over a local network or over the Internet;
- "Duel" mode.
Gameplay
The game board is set in one of six available environments, each with its own unique landscape and presentation features. So battles can take place surrounded by hellish lava, magnificent palaces and other fabulous interiors. Traditionally recognized game pieces have changed their appearance, now huge stone golems and beast chimeras take the place of the typical figures of a rook and a knight, respectively. A state-of-the-art 3D graphics engine delivers breathtaking visuals through the use of HDR effects, and cinematic-quality animations will draw players into the game.
The game on Mac OS uses the famous Fritz chess algorithm, which is equipped with 10 different levels of difficulty, as well as an extensive library, participants of all skill levels are given the appropriate degree of difficulty. In the game, the user is provided with a good selection of chess puzzles - multi-moves and one-moves of varying degrees of difficulty, for example, taking a piece in one move or by using the queen and rook to checkmate the enemy king in two.
In the "Duel" mode, when trying to capture a piece, a fight begins between the pieces, where the probability of hitting or dodging it depends on how quickly the player presses the highlighted keys. During this mini-game, the player's task is to reduce the enemy's health to zero. Under some circumstances even a pawn can withstand the attack of the queen, but this is more difficult because the pieces have their own punching power and the power of armor.
