Tropico 4 is a game in a series of economic simulation games in which the player will become a dictator who will settle the islands, creating a "paradise" on earth. Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media in 2011.

Plot

The game for Mac OS features an exclusively single player campaign. It consists of 20 different missions that build the storyline. The story itself consists of 3 key stages.

The main character is El Presidente, the owner of the islands, who is engaged in the development of all spheres of life on his own territory. He is assisted in this by 2 people: his mentor Santana and the director of a tropical fruit supply company, Keith Preston. At one point, the US president is killed, and suspicion falls on the protagonist. This forces him to flee the island, starting all over again.

Escaping to an unfamiliar island and changing his name, El Presidente learns that he is the victim of a conspiracy of his assistants, the UN inspector and the rebel leader. Furious, the protagonist begins to take revenge. After some time, the protagonist takes Preston's firm and ruins him, takes away Santana's power over his island, subjugates the rebel leader Marco Moreno, and deprives the influence of Inspector Brunhilde van Hoof. After that, the trust of the comrades El Presidente returns and it is time for the construction and development of the country of your dreams on the island.

While managing the territory, someone interferes with the main character. Santana is ready to provide information about this, demanding a lot of money. Having accumulated a sufficient amount of money, the protagonist learns that the real killer of the president is Nick Richards, who caused problems with the administration of the territory. To find evidence against the culprit, El Presidente begins to cooperate with the USSR.

After capturing the US spies, the deal fails as perestroika begins. Gameplay
