Unreal Tournament 2004 is a first-person shooter for Mac OS that focuses on online play, similar to the Quake series. The project is a modified version of Unreal Tournament 2003.
Gameplay
The gameplay has not changed in any way compared to the previous part. The player must also kill opponents or complete the assigned tasks to pass the map. In the user's arsenal, the same weapon remains: a machine gun with the ability to shoot from two hands when picking up a second one from the enemy, a rocket launcher, a machine gun, and more.
Modes are divided into 2 types: team and non-team. The former include Deathmatch, Mutant and Last Man Standing, and the Arena Master is also available in the "Ludicrous Edition". Basically, the classic Deathmatch is popular, which is also present in the team version of the match. The second type has more variety. The most popular are Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Assault and Double Domination. These modes receive more attention in the "career".
In the single player campaign, the plot involves participation in a Corporation tournament. The user needs to Download the game and create his own character for which he is going to play. After completing the configuration of the game parameters, the player must go through the first 4 arenas alone in order to attract a sponsor providing characters to add to the team. To become the leader of the assembled team, you must fight them in Deathmatch.
Next, you should go through several stages in Team Deathmatch in order to open directly access to the tournament ladder. After passing this stage, the user will have 4 battle options that are required to access the final battle.
When a player and his team enter the tournament, they have to go through 6 stages in Double Domination mode, 7 matches in Capture The Flag, 8 stages in Bombing Run (similar to basketball, in which the ball is a bomb) and 6 fights in Assault. Thus, the user must carefully select candidates for his team in order to assemble a suitable squad, with which he will need to fight for the title of champion against another candidate.
When all arenas in Unreal Tournament 2004 on Mac OS are completed, access to the 2 final battles opens. The first will be a team fight, and in the second it will be necessary to use all the skills acquired while moving up the tournament ladder, since the captain will have a final fight with a candidate for the champion title. After the victory, absolutely all opponents become available for recruiting into the squad, including the opponent who lost in the last battle.
Multiplayer is currently only available on custom servers. The official UT2004 servers are no longer active, as all attention is focused on the new part of the series, developed on the Unreal Engine 4.
