Five Nights at Freddy's Pack is a collection that includes the first three parts of the series. FNaF is a Mac OS horror game in which the player is seated in a chair in the guardroom of a mysterious pizzeria and provides very few resources to defend against raids by local scarecrows from midnight to 6 a.m. The guard post is attacked by animated soft toys, the attacks of which must be anticipated and then fought back, guided by video recordings from surveillance cameras. If, for example, in the first part it was necessary to defend against enemy invasions by breaking doors made of heavy metal, then in the second one it is required to put on a mask at the right time, in which the protagonist becomes invisible to opponents. The game does not have a clear line between the player and the enemies. If the scarecrow attacks, and the hero hides behind a mask in time, you can look at the monster through the holes just like in Outlast.
The various sounds that come out of the hallways and rooms are very good. They fill the atmosphere better than the graphics. In this case, even better than the game mechanics itself, which, on the one hand, is good, but on the other hand, it shows how little the creator Scott Coughton invested in the concept of the work. If a gamer is terribly shy and has not played the previous parts before, the unpredictable behavior of toys will surely catch him.
By the fifth night, the dim lights and interference start to get on your nerves. The textures and environments are generally gloomy, the evil in the restaurant is static, so it really takes some endurance to get through the game.
Hints of history are provided through cryptic phone calls and four mini-games that replace the ending. It will not be possible to complete the game quickly due to its increasing complexity. Players will have five working days and an additional bonus.
The Five Nights at Freddy's Pack for Mac OS makes it clear that even with a simple idea, a small budget, and mostly primitive game mechanics, it is possible to generate a lot of hype and perhaps even set a precedent in the computer entertainment industry. These minimalist horror films can be a source of inspiration for all those “big” horror films that rely on traditional clichés and huge production facilities that in many cases don't need to be scary at all. Download Five Nights at Freddy's is recommended for all impressionable gamers who are into horror.
