Peggle Nights is the sequel to the original Peggle for Mac OS. The project was published in 2008 by the same studio that developed the first part of the series - PopCap Games.

Gameplay

In terms of the gameplay, the project is almost no different from its predecessor, the player also has to shoot balls from top to bottom, gaining points for destroying elements. There are 10 balls in stock, the supply of which is replenished due to the absence of hits in blocks. When you hit the basket moving at the bottom of the screen, the number of shells does not change, so you can use shells several times. Also, for getting 25,000 points or more per shot, the number of balls is saved, returning the used projectile back. It is worth noting that there is a set of special abilities, with which you can destroy different types of blocks in different quantities.

On the levels there are blocks of different colors: purple, green, blue and orange. For progressive advancement, it is necessary to destroy all orange blocks at each stage.

There are 2 additional modes available for users to test their skills. Passing tests makes it clear to the player how well he owns the skills necessary to complete all the tests and levels of the game. Difficulties arise, because in the game you have to think very carefully about each step that plays a role in the completion of the level.

Despite the similarities to the original, Peggle Nights on Mac OS has some peculiarities. Basically, this is the addition of types of shots. Now you can shoot from walls and more. The game takes place not during the day, but in the dark, at night.

The add-on introduced a few innovations in the amount of content, which delighted the fans: 60 new levels and the same number of bonus challenges, as well as a new hero named Marina Electrokalmar. The Master possesses an ability called "Electrobolt". A powerful bolt of lightning destroys all blocks between the basket for collecting balls and the element to which the blow is directed.

Later, 3 DLCs were released: the "holidays" and "spring" themes, as well as a fan-made level pack based on custom art.

The add-on received good reviews, with an average rating of 7.5 points out of 10. Many people recommend the Download add-on, as it will add content elements that add several tens of hours to the passage.
