Star Wars The Force Unleashed is a Mac OS fantasy action game set in the Star Wars universe, featuring character stories that run parallel to cinematic stories. Developed by LucasArts in partnership with n-Space and Krome Studios, released by LucasArts in September 2008.

Game process

The main idea was to recreate a colorful, effective and memorable style of gameplay, which includes both a powerful and spectacular combat system with lightsabers and a lot of special effects, as well as an intriguing plot associated with the original story.

The game, which can be download here, includes both a single player, which reveals in detail the plot, characters and possibilities of the game, as well as multiplayer, which is the ability to fight other players.

One of the distinguishing features is the ability to level up and develop the character. For certain points of power, you can pump both the existing skills of the character, and learn new ones, which help, mainly, in battle.

Another advantage of Star Wars The Force Unleashed is the variety of uses of the hero's abilities. First, the game mechanics include hand-to-hand combat, classic laser swords, and even shooting lightning. Secondly, thanks to the power of the hero, you can drag various objects on the map in order to throw them at enemies, climb into a hard-to-reach location, come up with traps and destructive combinations.

The combat system is also worked out in detail, in addition to colorful attacks, mechanics provide for series and combos, captures and finishing moves. In addition, the game has two endings, depending on the player's choice of which side he will join: Darkness or Light.

The Force Unleashed for Mac OS takes place in the Galaxy canon for Star Wars and takes place between Episodes III and IV of the cinematic saga. Darth Vader appears in the game, who flies to one of the planets to suppress the Wookiee uprising. It also turns out that, according to rumors, the Wookiees are being helped by some Jedi, whose extermination is the main goal of the Sith Lord. After fighting this Jedi, Darth Vader takes his son, calling him Starkiller. It is this character that becomes the protagonist of the game.

In the course of the plot, the main character develops, gets new abilities and defeats the enemies that the Sith points to him. The main goal is to train, betray and overthrow the Emperor. After passing all the tests, Starkiller realizes that he is ready for the main mission and goes to the Executioner Dreadnought to meet with the overlord. The plan fails because of Palpatine's spies and, in order to make amends, Darth Vader has to kill the protagonist.

However, the Sith later resurrects Starkiller, explaining that this is a clever move to mislead the Emperor. Vader also tells his new plan and gives a series of assignments to the protagonist, during which the hero gets to know other characters, the side of the Light, helps the locals and sabotages the actions of the Empire: destroys the Star Claw and kills Captain Ozzik Shturn. Also, the hero meets the spirit of his father.

A little later, the protagonist frees the senator and fights several dangerous opponents, minions of the dark side of the Force, which affects Starkiller's self-awareness. Obeying the light side of the Force and doing honest deeds makes him hesitate between good and evil.

Soon, the protagonist of Star Wars The Force Unleashed helps in the creation of the Alliance - the enemy of the Empire, and Darth Vader attacks the planet on which the action takes place. At this moment, Starkiller comes to understand the real essence of the Sith, his betrayal and hypocrisy. In the end, the protagonist fights with a large number of enemies, defeats Vader himself and reaches Palpatine, where he can choose who in the end to remain: a Jedi or a Sith, on which the ending of the game depends. Despite the player's freedom of choice, the choice of the side of the World is canonical.
