The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is a second or third person RPG on Mac OS developed by CD Project Red and released in 2007. The game was created based on the books of Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher series.

Gameplay

The player controls one of the witchers - Geralt of Rivia. The protagonist can gain experience for killing enemies and completing tasks. After gaining a certain amount of experience, the user receives "talents" - skill points, which can be spent on the acquisition of new skills. Some skills require a certain type of talent: bronze (from level 0), silver (from level 15), and gold (from level 30).

The combat system is different from other representatives of the genre. The main character can use 3 fighting styles: power, fast and group. Each type of attack is designed for a specific type of enemy, with which it will be most effective. The chosen weapon for battle also plays a role: the steel sword is available immediately and allows you to fight with people and animals, and the silver sword appears during the course of the story and does more damage to monsters. In order to carry out a series of blows, it is necessary to hold down the attack button in time when a special icon on the scope lights up. Geralt can also bounce and jump over the enemy. Strikes are parried automatically.

The analogue of magic in The Witcher: Enhanced Edition are signs of power. There are 5 of them in the game: "Aard" - throwing back objects and enemies, followed by stunning; "Igni" - setting the enemy on fire or lighting a fire; "Quen" - a protective field around the witcher, which stops acting when the player is attacked or after the expiration of time; "Axiy" - the impact on opponents, forcing them to fight on the side of the caster; "Yrden" is a magical trap that inflicts damage on monsters that step on it.

Also in the game, which can be download on this site, there are mini-games: "poker with dice", "fistfight", "we drink to the bottom". Each of them has additional tasks.

Plot

The Witcher for Mac OS begins with an introductory video in which the wounded protagonist Geralt of Rivia flees somewhere and loses consciousness. He is picked up by other witchers and taken to their fortress - Kaer Morhen. The main character is treated by a sorceress - Triss Merigold, for which Geralt thanks her.

While the girl and the witcher were talking, the robbers attacked the witchers led by the Professor - a man intending to take the witcher's elixir for himself. The main character breaks through after the thief, killing all his henchmen, including the immoral magician.

Having reached the room with the elixir, the Professor shoots a crossbow at Leo, a young witcher, checking if the witcher can catch an arrow on the fly. Killing him, the robber escapes into the portal.

After the funeral of one of the students of the Wolf School, Geralt goes in search of the Professor in order to avenge Leo's death and return the elixir to turn into a witcher.
