Half-Life: Opposing Force is a first person shooter for Mac OS. This project is only a DLC for the game Half-Life. In this game, the events take place in "Black Mesa", as in the original, only here you play as Corporal Adrian Shepard, who serves in a special unit of HECU.
Plot
The events begin, as in the original, but here you need to play for a completely different character - Adrian Shepard - Corporal of the HECU special forces, who was given a secret mission to exterminate all Black Mesa personnel in order to get rid of witnesses. A helicopter with the main character knocked out an alien aircraft. As a result, he loses his group, and he has to unite with lone soldiers who are trying to evacuate to a special place.
Features:
- Single-player type of game;
- Multiplayer game mode;
- Plot, consisting of 13 chapters;
- A large number of weapons;
- Interesting story.
Gameplay
In this supplement, players will be in the role of a Special Forces soldier. In accordance with this, all weapons and armor were replaced: a suit from Half-Life with a P.C.V body armor; the flashlight was changed to a gas mask with an attached night vision function; instead of scrap - a knife or pipe wrench. For multiplayer in 2000, a new Capture the Flag mode was developed.
The HECU soldiers are, of course, allies for the protagonist. And during the entire passage he will have to fight together with his comrades. But for interesting gameplay, two new soldiers were added to the game: medics and engineers. Medics know how to restore the health of the wounded protagonist and other allies, and engineers can use a welding machine to break open a door. There will be times when, during the passage, you will have to interact with two types of soldiers, when the gamer needs to heal a wounded engineer so that he can break the door. Black Mesa employees are not aggressive towards the character and even help to overcome difficulties. An additional character has appeared in the game - the fat guard of "Black Mesa" - Otis.
Half-Life: Opposing Force on Mac OS added another tutorial mission called "Boot Camp". In this mission, the player who decides to Download the game is explained the basics of the gameplay and is given to experience new features such as climbing a rope and talking with soldiers on a walkie-talkie.
