In order to achieve its goal, the Cadet will have to go through many tests: from earning money for existence to reprisal with mutants still unknown, who are just waiting for the moment to enjoy the flesh of a wandering traveler. Villagers will help to fulfill the order by entering into dialogs with them, the character can learn the necessary information, hearing or knowledge in order to improve certain skills or find out what awaits him next. But not everything is so smooth: information leaked that someone is preparing the complete destruction of civilization, so believe everyone you meet is the way to the grave (conspirators everywhere). So in addition to the order, the protagonist will have to uncover the plot and prevent irreversible consequences.
