Mafia 3 is an open-world shooter for Mac OS, partly continuing the history of the previous part of the series. As in the previous part, the player will take part in various actions of the mafia of the 20th century.

Gameplay

The main character is Lincoln Clay. Playground - New Bordeaux, the prototype of the densely populated city of Louisiana. The duration of the game is 60-70 years of the last century. The city is divided into various districts, which can now be moved not only by cars, but also by boats. In addition to the open area of ​​the city, there are such terrain elements as suburban areas and underground tunnels.

Like its predecessors, the third part of the game trilogy gives the user more freedom than before. Although the game focuses on plot tasks, a person can still spend time in their own way. For example, one of the important innovations - the capture of areas of hostile groupings can delay the player for a long time. The user is given the opportunity to build friendly relations with lieutenants - representatives of gangs who help the protagonist (provide fire support, bribe off the guards). As a "response" to their services, you should complete various quests for each group and give the right to dispose of the captured territory. If you ignore the tasks of the lieutenant, the user will make him his enemy, because the first will designate the second as the enemy of the gang and the hunt will begin.

In the game for Mac OS there is only a single player campaign with an open world and free completion of tasks. This time, the development team also refused to introduce multiplayer mode for playing on servers.

Plot

The story is narrated in 2016 on behalf of an FBI agent - Jonathan Maguire, the father of James and John Donovan, who testifies about his participation in the affairs of the protagonist. Jonathan conducts his own investigation of the events in New Bordeaux in 1968, when the war broke out between the Lincoln Clay syndicate and the Sal Marcano gang.

The main character grew up from 2 years old in an orphanage under the tutelage of James's father, since his mother abandoned her son. After the orphanage was closed in 1958, the protagonist joined the black mafia gang, where he found his adoptive father, the head of the group, Sam Robinson. Over time, for Clay, the gang becomes a new family, friendly relations are established with all members of the gang.

After 8 years in the group, the main character goes to war. There he befriends CIA agent John Donovan. Lincoln received many awards for his bravery in battle, but the horror of war changed him, adding toughness and determination to his character.

Returning from the war in 1968, the protagonist decides to stay briefly in his hometown to see loved ones goodbye. Learning that the head of the black mafia gang, Sam Robinson, owes a lot of money to the Italian mafia and that the gang is on the verge of destruction, Lincoln agrees to help his adoptive father.
