The action of Total War - THREE KINGDOMS on Mac OS is based on real events that took place on the territory of Ancient China in 190 AD, in the so-called Age of the Three Kingdoms, when three kingdoms of China - Wei, Wu and Shu - fought for power.

The story begins with the fact that the country is fragmented between self-proclaimed rulers, and it needs an emperor who will unite it. The player will become the ancestor of the ruling dynasty, for this it is required to choose one of the twelve military leaders represented.

The player's task is to gather an army and make the rest of the generals submit. It is equally important to surpass opponents in the economy, in political negotiations and, of course, on the battlefield. The player has two ways to achieve the goal: the conclusion of strong alliances built on friendship and trust, or through intrigue and betrayal.

Gameplay

The strategic map of the game includes 70 provinces, which are divided into 187 regions. The main gameplay can be completed in two modes - romanticized and classic, which you must choose before the start of the campaign.

The romanticized mode is characterized by how heroes behave on the battlefield. They alone can withstand hundreds of rank-and-file warriors using Wushu tricks. The narrative and main events are based on the Three Kingdoms novel.

The classic Total War mode - THREE KINGDOMS for Mac OS is closer to reality and is based on troop maneuvers, that is, the one with the largest army and more thoughtful tactics wins. The narrative is based on historical texts.

To command the army, the player will need three generals, each of whom directs six units. Care must be taken to ensure that they do not die, otherwise the units under their control may escape. Each general has unique abilities and units of soldiers. Each of them also has a function on the battlefield, for example, warriors, fight excellently with other generals, guards are suitable for assaulting the fortress, and officials provide support and reduce the characteristics of the enemy army. The outcome of the battle depends on the correct choice of the general.
